Our Work
Childbase Partnership works internationally to support high-quality early childhood education through collaboration, training and system improvement. Across a range of contexts, we work alongside partners to strengthen provision, develop workforce capability and create approaches that are sustainable beyond our direct involvement.
Our experience spans multiple regions, allowing us to adapt our model to different cultural, regulatory and market environments while maintaining a clear focus on improving outcomes for children.
Asia: Building Quality at Scale
China
In China, we partnered with leading universities and early years providers to support the transformation of nursery provision. At Zhixu Kindergarten in In nurseries in Shanghai, we introduced a blended curriculum and provided sustained on-site support, helping to establish a strong focus on child development and quality practice.
This led to a significant increase in parental demand and a step change in the quality of provision, with the setting now recognised locally as a leading example of early years practice.
Alongside this, we co-developed an accredited online training platform with university partners, creating new pathways into the profession and supporting wider workforce development.
Middle East: Developing Practice in Growing Markets
UAE
In the UAE, our work has focused on both system development and the creation of high-quality exemplar provision.
We have delivered international exchange visits to the UK, enabling leaders and practitioners to experience outstanding early years practice first-hand and translate this into their own settings. Alongside this, we have worked intensively with a group of ‘guided nurseries’, providing targeted support to enhance practice, strengthen leadership and establish exemplar settings that can support wider sector improvement.
This approach has helped build local capacity while creating a model of quality that can be sustained and scaled.
Oman
In Oman, we supported the development of a growing nursery provider in Muscat, working to strengthen curriculum, improve quality and explore models of centralised training and support.
This work provided valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities within rapidly expanding childcare markets, and has informed our approach to supporting sustainable, system-wide improvement.
Maldives
We delivered bespoke training for childcare staff within a leading resort group, focusing on baby care, safeguarding and working effectively with families.
The programme led to immediate improvements in staff confidence and practice, demonstrating the impact of targeted, high-quality training in specialist contexts.
Australasia: Sharing Practice and Learning Together
Australia
Our partnership in Australia has focused on professional exchange, enabling practitioners to share expertise and learn from different approaches.
This has strengthened practice on both sides, from curriculum development and training to the use of outdoor environments, reinforcing the value of international collaboration in driving continuous improvement.
